The first hydrogen bus in Spain, with Masats doors
Masats has supplied the doors for the first zero-emissions hydrogen bus which was recently put into circulation on the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) X1 line. It is an H2 City Gold LHD model manufactured by Portuguese company CaetanoBus. This model uses an electric powered system with a combustible hydrogen battery, which is zero-emissions CO2 technology. The vehicle will be supplied by the new green hydrogen plant in the Zona Franca.
This bus is the first in Spain of this kind. With a light aluminium body, it has got an 029g electric inward-opening front door, an electric sliding door with a telescopic ramp in the middle and another 028c electric sliding doors in the back, all made by MASATS.
Over the coming months, eight more vehicles will be put into circulation in Barcelona.
This initiative is part of TMB’s commitment to clean transport for the future as a way to reduce climate change.
