Minister Hereu inaugurates Masats’ new facilities

The Masats company celebrated the official inauguration of its new plant in the Salelles industrial estate on 14 November, with the distinguished presence of the Minister of Industry, His Excellency Mr Jordi Hereu, the Government Delegate in Catalonia, His Excellency Mr Carlos Prieto, and the Minister of Business and Labour of the Generalitat, His Excellency Mr Miquel Sàmper. Other authorities will also be present, such as the Mayor of Sant Salvador de Guardiola, Anna Llobet, and the Delegate of the Government in Central Catalonia, Èlia Tortolero, among other institutional representatives.

At the end of 2024, Masats completed the expansion of its facilities with a new 4,800 m² plant, designed to meet the growing demand in the sector and strengthen its position as an international leader in accessibility systems and automatic doors for public transport.

In recent months, the company has made significant investments in modernising the building and implementing new assembly lines for aluminium doors for city buses. At the same time, the expansion has enabled the restructuring of production at the group’s other plants in Salelles, which together cover a total of 26,000 m².

This new expansion will double the production of doors for city buses and optimise workflows between the company’s different production sections, which range from automatic door systems for buses, coaches and trains to ramps and lifts for people with reduced mobility and platform doors for metro and railway stations.

The works have also included the relocation and expansion of the Prototypes and Approval Testing section to a new warehouse in the industrial estate, the refurbishment of another plant for the manufacture of railway systems, a rapidly growing market for the company, and the creation of a new warehouse for the Spare Parts Service in order to improve customer service.

Masats is thus consolidating its growth and its commitment to innovation, quality and industrial development in the region, providing quality employment for 330 people.
