INFORMATION ON COOKIES

Due to the entry into force of the referenced modification of the “Spanish Law on Information Society Services” (LSSICE) established by Spanish Royal Decree 13/2012, obtaining express consent from the user of all websites that use essential cookies is required before they browse them.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels are tools used by webservers to store and recover information on their visitors as well as offer proper site functioning.

The use of these devices allows the webserver to remember some user data such as their preferences for page display on that server, name and password, the products they’re most interested in, etc.

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE LAW AND EXEMPT COOKIES

Pursuant to the EU Directive, the cookies that require informed consent from the user are analytical and advertising and affiliation cookies with all technical cookies and those necessary for website functioning or the provision of services expressly requested by the user exempt.

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?

There are five major groups of cookies:

  • Analytical cookies: they collect information on the use of the website.
  • Social cookies: they are necessary for external social networks.
  • Affiliate cookies: they make it possible to track visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliate contract (affiliation companies).
  • Advertising and behavioural cookies: they collect information on the user’s personal preferences and choices (retargeting).
  • Technical and functional cookies: they are strictly necessary for the use of the website and the provision of the service contracted.
